Polymer Rigid Composite Membrane Technology

Regenerable membrane filtration engineered for lubricant production — not adapted from disposable cartridge systems.

Technology 01

Rigid Membrane Structure

The Jingyuan® polymer rigid composite membrane is a sintered tubular membrane array with pore geometry fixed in a high-strength matrix (membrane wall thickness 3–5 mm). Pore dimensions remain constant across the operational pressure range — from normal working pressure drop (0.2 MPa) to the backwash trigger point (0.5 MPa). Rigid pores do not deform under cold-start shocks or pump pressure fluctuations, eliminating "extrusion bypass." Because the pore structure is sintered into the polymer matrix, loose fibers physically do not exist — zero secondary fiber contamination.

Technology 02

Gas-Pulse Regeneration

Membrane elements are regenerated by gas-pulse backwashing using 0.4–0.6 MPa compressed air / N₂, triggered at 0.5 MPa differential pressure. Regeneration restores filtration capacity in place — no cartridge swap-out, no media inventory, no used-cartridge disposal. The JY-DX40-L runs consumable-free.

Technology 03

Zero Disposable Cartridges

No string-wound, melt-blown PP or pleated paper elements are used anywhere in the system. One membrane precision specification covers all product lines within the same viscosity range — streamlining line management and eliminating SKU-heavy cartridge inventories.

Technology 04

ISO 16889 β-Ratio Testing

Filtration performance is quantified by the ISO 16889 multi-pass test. β10 ≥ 200 means that for every 200 particles ≥ 10 µm upstream, only 1 remains downstream — 99.5% absolute retention. Quantifiable test reports support OEM audits and outgoing-batch cleanliness commitments.

Precision Window

Why 5–10 µm — Blocking Abrasives While Protecting Formulas

Lubricant filtration has a specific contradiction: harmful abrasive particles must be intercepted, while the design target is to avoid stripping additive molecules from the formulation.

Component in OilTypical SizeFiltration Intent
Detergent-dispersant micelles0.01–1 µmMust pass through
Long-chain viscosity index improvers (VII)~2–5 µm hydrodynamic diameterMust pass through
Hard abrasive particles (metal shavings, oxide scale, dust)≥ 5 µmMust be intercepted

Media with pores that are too small (1–3 µm) inevitably intercept VII and other critical additives, causing formula drift and viscosity index degradation. The Jingyuan® membrane restricts its pore size to a precise 5–10 µm window with β10 ≥ 200 absolute retention — intercepting harmful abrasives. The design objective is to minimize additive-molecule removal; actual additive retention for a given formulation is confirmed by Jingyuan per application, not assumed from pore size alone.

Verified facts vs. engineering rationale: Membrane pore size, filtration precision, β ratio, flow rate, pressure, regeneration method and applicable oil viscosity ranges are verified technical facts. Additive-preservation behavior is an engineering rationale based on the controlled pore window and the chemically inert, non-polar membrane surface. Customer-specific performance results are published only from documented applications. For formulation-specific confirmation, contact Jingyuan engineering.
Additional Capability

Intrinsic Superhydrophobic Water Removal

The membrane surface is treated to be intrinsically superhydrophobic — repelling free and mildly emulsified water from the oil.

Interfacial Tension Barrier

Water droplets are repelled and blocked by the membrane surface due to contact-angle differences, preventing penetration to the clean-oil side.

Coalescence & Settling

Blocked droplets coalesce into larger drops in low-velocity zones and settle into the water collection chamber.

Routine Drainage

Accumulated water is removed via the bottom drain valve — no chemical demulsifiers required, no separate vacuum dehydration module needed.

For mild cloudiness and emulsification from storage tank temperature differentials or pipeline condensation, dehydration occurs synchronously within the main filtration process. Severe emulsification or bulk water removal scenarios require individual engineering evaluation — contact Jingyuan.
